Dance! Dance! Dance!

Well this morning started out very early, and very dark outside. I was up early to give myself extra time to get into work. Well mother nature worked against me... or would that be in my favour? This morning. As soon as my front wheels got off of the cement floor of the garage they just kept spinning! I tried for a few minutes and just gave up, managed to get my car back into the garage and called into work. If I can't easily get out of the garage (remember I'm rural!) chances are pretty good that I won't make it out of the top of the driveway either! Todd called me to let me know he had to put his truck into 4x4 to get out of the drive, I have a tiny 2 door Accent so I knew I wouldn't make it. Well at least I never got that far to try and get stuck up to my axles in snow! So its a snow day! Yay!

Which means I've been stitching since about 7am... and look what I just finished!!!!

The Castle
by Teresa Wentzler
c2000 Leisure Arts
From The Best of Teresa Wentzler Fantasy Collection
Stitched on 32 ct Opalescent Lugana - Heavenly Sky from Sugarmaple Fabrics
Stitched with DMC cotton floss
Now of course Happy Dances lead to thoughts of : "what's next" Well I'd rather look at what I've got on the go than what I can start new. I've got an ornament that's started and I really need to take inventory to make sure I have enough! I've got the Jeannette Douglas Pomegranate needlebook which I could easily finish in quick order, Pomegranates and Pares the large class piece, Mini Cottages 5, Tour Des Marques which I don't think my eyes can handle over one after all the stitching I did this weekend! I've also got round 4 of Fair & Square to stitch up. So there are no lack of options at all! We'll see what I end up pulling out!

Wow Dani! Snow days are always such a lovely bonus aren't they? Congrats on finishing your Castle and it looks great. I have done absolutely no stitching all weekend because we had company...but oh what a good time we all had!

Enjoy the rest of your day! I always loved snow days whether I made it into work or not...but mostly if I had to stay home. The roads here are treacherous too ...well I am just judging that from our driveway also...no way am I going anywhere.

I think I'll stitch too.

Congratulations! Your needles were flying! Thanks for the detailed picture, too. The blending of colors, especially in the wing area are really gorgeous. We can't quite appreciate them as much in the larger picture. 44 finishes so far this year that is impressive!

I vote for Pomegranates and Pears. I thought that was lovely.

Woohoo!! Hurray for snow days. Look what you can accomplish when one hits! The castle is stupendous!
Have you decided how you'll frame it?
I took a snow day too after I was forced to turn around only 10 min from home. No stitching though, I started my Christmas decorating.

Mel said...

Dani, you are so quick! I've been watching your progress and I swear it dosen't seem like it took that long. I love that piece! I think it was my 1st TW I bought. I haven't stitched yet - maybe one day!

Wendy said...

Congratulations on your Happy Dance, Dani! The Castle looks so fantastic! I know what a lot of work this design is.

BTW, you were asking if Opal Linen was easier to work on than Evenweave, and I think it definitely is. I find the holes very difficult to find on opal EW sometimes... your needle just glides through on the opal Linen!

Your PL is coming along beautifully too. I so love catching up on your blog. :)

Beautifull Congrats on the finish. Also your finishes later this week look great. Blogger is giving me issues for commenting, so I will do my luck in only one comment on everything.

Gorgeous! Maybe I should kit this one up - I started in the 80s on Aida but we know the story already. I've got some SMF fabbie picked out so maybe I'll start this in 2008. This was the first TW I ever saw and still is my favorite. Congrats!
